LANSING (WKZO-AM) — A federal judge has dismissed an attempt by the Michigan House of Representatives to squelch whistle-blower lawsuits filed by two aides for former representatives Cindy Gamrat and Todd Courser.
Keith Allard and Ben Graham claimed they had been reporting the various activities of the two lawmakers, including the affair and the botched cover-up, and other improprieties to staffers in the speaker’s office.
When Gamrat and Courser found out, Allard and Graham were fired.
The judge ruled they were doing the right thing by reporting the acts of misconduct that led to Gamrat’s expulsion and Courser’s resignation.
The judge also ruled the House is not entitled to legislative immunity, as they claimed, and must disclose anything that was said about the two aides in the business office investigation report.
