JONESVILLE, MI (WTVB) – A second person has died following a three vehicle chain reaction crash in Hillsdale County last Monday afternoon.
The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department says 56-year-old Roy Russell Signor of Allen died Sunday afternoon at the University of Michigan hospital from injuries he suffered in the crash.
The other fatal victim was 44-year-old Cathleen Laverne Signor of Allen. She died last Monday after being flown to U of M Hospital.
One other person was injured in the accident.
Deputies reported at the time that 48-year-old Zeljko Radjenovic of Sterling Heights was heading east on U.S. 12 when his semi-tractor trailer crested a hill and collided with a SUV driven by 50-year-old Roger Dale Jermeay of Jonesville trying to turn left into a private drive.
Jermeay was pushed into the westbound lane of oncoming traffic where he struck a Chevy Blazer driven by Roy Russel Signor. Signor’s vehicle went off the road and overturned.
Jermeay was taken to Allegiance Hospital in Jackson. Radjenovic was not injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
