COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The name of the event may have changed but visitors to Coldwater’s Heritage Park will be able to enjoy a living history adventure during the Memorial Day weekend.
The three day event which started on Friday is now called River Through Time and it will be held rain or shine through Sunday.
Friday was Education Day as organizers were expecting over 1,400 students from across the area to attend.
After being unavailable last year because of state mandated maintenance, the steam train rides on the Little River Railroad are back. The 45-minute train rides will include entertainers, a train robbery and a battle.
The non-profit group’s website says its timelines will cover events from the 1600’s through the Vietnam War.
The Civil War Battle of Missionary Ridge is scheduled to take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Throughout the weekend, visitors to the free event will be able to see camp life of early settlers and native Americans. There will also be military encampments from various wars.
