BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – One man is injured and another is in custody after an attempted vehicle theft in Battle Creek, WOOD TV reported Tuesday.
The incident occurred just before 10 p.m. Monday night, when a man stopped at a business on West Dickman Road and left his car running outside.
The man then saw someone getting in his car, who he attempted to stop by jumping into the passenger window. However, he fell out and sustained injuries.
The vehicle broke down a short distance from the shop, and the suspect left the scene. He was later found and arrested by police.
The owner is expected to recover from his injuries, which are said to be non life-threatening.
Meanwhile, the suspect is being held on charges of assault and vehicle theft. His name has not been released at this time.
