DELTA COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is investigating the deaths of five bald eagles that were found between April 3rd and April 17th in the Upper Peninsula’s Garden Peninsula.
The birds appear to have been intentionally killed.
The DNR is requesting tips from the public to identify the suspect or suspects and Lieutenant Mark Zitnik with DNR Law Enforcement says the eagles to not show any signs of trauma and their deaths are “not an environmental issue.”
Local tribes and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are helping with the investigation.
