KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Kalamazoo woman has turned herself in and is being charged in a Kalamazoo Township hit-and-run crash in April that killed a motorcyclist.
55-year-old Carol Kosch turned herself in Tuesday and has been charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident when at fault resulting in death. That is a felony charge that could carry a prison sentence of up to 15 years. She was given a $500 personal recognizance bond.
The accident happened April 14 just before 6:30 p.m. on Gull Road near Nazareth Road in Kalamazoo Township. The Township of Kalamazoo Police Department says a Jeep Grand Cherokee turned in front of a motorcycle driven by Azariah Smith. He was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead,
Police say the Jeep left the scene before authorities arrived, but it was located later at the driver’s residence.
