KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 24-year-old Kalamazoo Township man is in the Kalamazoo County Jail on several charges after the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement and Crime Reduction teams executed a search warrant on July 1st.
Hakiem Blanchard was arraigned this week on the charges and is held on a $250,000 cash or surety bond.
The officers were investigating drug sales when they raided a home in the 2000 block of Elkterton Avenue and searched his vehicle in the 5400 block of Gull Road.
The vehicle search turned up heroin/fentanyl and drug sale evidence, and the search of his home resulted in a stolen firearm being seized along with more heroin/fentanyl and cash believed to be drug sale profits.
Blanchard was convicted in the past of felony charges and is not allowed to legally possess any guns or ammunition. He was released from prison in 2024.
