BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Battle Creek Police Department is looking into a shooting incident Wednesday afternoon near South McKinley Avenue and Capital Avenue NE.
Police say two people reported that someone they know shot at them. Neither was injured, and police believe the incident was isolated, with no ongoing threat to the public.
A 53-year-old Battle Creek man and a 31-year-old Battle Creek woman told officers they had been shot at around 4:1o p.m. following a dispute over money. The person they identified left on foot before officers arrived and was not located.
The Battle Creek Police Department is investigating and says it plans to submit a warrant request to the Calhoun County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
