KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Kalamazoo man was convicted this week of assault with intent to murder over a shooting last year.
October 30, 2025, Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Summit Park Court for a report of a shooting. First-arriving officers located the victim, a 53-year-old male, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital and survived his injuries.
KDPS says using technology, including surveillance footage and license plate readers investigators identified the suspect as Trennier Shaw. He was taken into custody approximately two hours after the shooting.
Wednesday. Shaw was convicted of the following crimes assault with intent to murder, carrying a weapon with unlawful intent, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, carrying a concealed weapon, and four counts of felony firearm
Shaw is scheduled for sentencing November 9, 2026.
