WAYLAND, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A $100-million dollar expansion is coming to Gun Lake Casino in Allegan County.
The Gun Lake Tribe announced on Wednesday that they’re going to expand the gaming floor, add two upscale restaurants, and double the size of the casino’s entertainment area, called “Stage 131,” by adding more seating and an outdoor patio.
The new building space will be constructed going towards 129th Avenue and once it’s completed there will be 450 more slot machines, 12 new table games, and a larger non-smoking area.
The 72,000 square foot expansion will also create 125 new jobs at the casino on top of 300 construction jobs.
Those interested in applying for the new jobs can go to GunLakeCasino.com for more information.
Preliminary work is already underway and construction is expected to be completed in the summer of 2021.
“We are proud of the effort of our team members that has driven the continued success of Gun Lake Casino and our Tribe’s contributions to Michigan’s economy in the last eight years. These expansion plans allow us to build on these efforts and provide even more employment opportunities and increased economic impact in our local communities,” said Tribal Chairman Bob Peters
