MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – The Kmart store in Marshall will be one of just three Kmarts in Michigan to stay open.
Sears Holding Corporation has announced the closings of eight Kmart stores in Michigan.
The Marshall store will stay open, along with two others in Waterford Township and Warren in the metro Detroit area.
The company filed for bankruptcy in October 2018.
They said in a statement that the decision was difficult but necessary.
Kmart started in Michigan in 1962 with the first store located in Garden City.
