PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – God’s Kitchen of Michigan, an area private non-profit hunger relief organization, will be holding a pair of free community Christmas dinners next week.
The first dinner will be held Tuesday, December 19 at First United Methodist Church, 111 E. Michigan Avenue in downtown Battle Creek. The second dinner is scheduled for Wednesday, December 20 at Portage Chapel Hill Church at 7028 Oakland Drive in Portage.
Organizers say it is a great opportunity for everyone to come together and enjoy a delicious Christmas meal with friends, family, and the community. The menu includes a variety of dishes, such as baked chicken, honey ham, lobster tails, steak, cheesy broccoli, mashed potatoes, desserts, and bottled water.
In addition, a free toy will be given to each participating child during the Christmas meal while supplies last.
The dinners are sponsored by Baptism USA Ministries, First United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church, and Overflow Church of Battle Creek, as well as Portage Chapel Hill Church, Arbor Financial Credit Union, Plumbers & Pipefitters Local #333, IBEW Local #445, BCTGM Local 3, Allen Harmon Insurance Company, Seelye Auto Group, and Walmart Stores.
