KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A financially struggling surgical instrument manufacturer with a good idea is being gobbled up by the Stryker Corporation for $190-million dollars.
Invuity manufactures a line of surgical tools with built in headlights, which makes it easier for surgeons to see what they are doing during minimally invasive procedures.
They are designed to improve precision, efficiency and safety…good things to have when under the knife.
But they have not been able to make and sell enough of the expensive devices to make any money.
Apparently Stryker thinks it can.
