DEARBORN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Drivers in Michigan are paying an average of $4.01 per gallon to start the week.
Triple-A Michigan says that is the lowest average price statewide since April and it is down 18¢ a gallon from last week.
The price is down 73¢ in the past month, but remains 72¢ more than last year.
Michigan’s highest price is in metro Detroit and Ann Arbor at $4.12, and the lowest price is in Grand Rapids at $3.83 a gallon.
A 15-gallon tank of gas costs $60 on average in the state.
In southwest Michigan, Calhoun County has the lowest price at $3.87, followed by St. Joseph County at $3.88, Allegan and Kalamazoo counties at $3.90, Van Buren County at $3.91, Berrien County at $3.93, and Barry and Cass counties at $3.97.
